Donald “Don” LaRue Comerer
Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Brother -
Donald “Don” LaRue Comerer, age 86, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 27, 2016. Don was born on Thursday, May 8, 1930 in Shippensburg to the late Clever Wayne Comerer and Laura Pearl (Gettel) Comerer. In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his three siblings: Wilber Comerer, Leonard “Tony” Comerer, and Helen Rhine.
Don’s survivors include his wife of 65 years, Janet Louise (Jumper) Comerer; his two children: Darlene Sunday and her husband, Robert, of Carlisle, Donald C. Comerer, Sr. of Mechanicsburg; his three grandchildren: Kristi Minnich, Heather Sunday, Donald C. Comerer, Jr.; his three great-grandchildren: Loghan Minnich, Evan Minnich, Ashton Sunday; his sister: Frances Louise Bigler of Shippensburg; his beloved and constant companion, Snuggles; and many nieces and nephews.
Don retired from Gatter & Diehl, Inc in Mechanicsburg, after 36 years of service working as an architectural draftsman. He loved deer hunting and watching NASCAR. Don enjoyed tending to his flower garden where he grew peonies, tulips, and lilies. He really had a passion for working outside in the yard.
All are welcome to join Don’s family at his graveside service on Friday, July 1, 2016, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Cemetery, 4605 East Trindle Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050; with Chaplain Ken Fornicola officiating.
