Donald Eugene Fishel, 74, of Mechanicsburg , died at home on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. He was born in Mechanicsburg, on Monday, January 30, 1939, son of the late William A. Fishel and Hilda (Osman) Fishel. Donald was the husband of Sandra Kay (Getz) Fishel whom he married on December 26, 1972.
Donald’s survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Sandra; his brother, James D. Fishel and his wife Christine of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Donald in death are his four brothers, Robert Fishel, Daniel Fishel, William Fishel, and John Fishel.
Donald graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1957. He was owner and operator of the former J&D Home Improvements in Mechanicsburg, having served the Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas for over 45 years. Donald loved hunting, attending both flea markets and yard sales, and was a fanatic follower of the San Fransisco 49ers.
Cremation and services will be private and at the family’s convenience.
