Donald Eugene Gibas, 78, of Mechanicsburg , and formerly of Corry , died at home on Monday, January 21, 2013, his 29 th wedding anniversary. He was born in Corry, on Monday, February 5, 1934, son of the late Floryan Gibas and Mary (Kasper) Gibas. Donald was the husband of Jan A. (Lett) Gibas whom he married on January 21, 1984.
Donald graduated from Corry High School . He retired from Associated Spring Barnes Group Inc in Corry, and from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania - Department of General Services . Donald was a member of Saint Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg. He loved hunting, gardening, traveling, and anything involving the outdoors. Donald especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Donald’s survivors include his loving wife, Jan; children, Denyse Miskin and her husband Stephen of Mechanicsburg, Joel Frushone and his wife Ashley of Washington, DC, Gayle Hart and her husband Billy of Lambertville, NJ, Kristen Donaldson and her husband Scott of East Fallowfield, Mark Frushone and his wife Cynthia of Carlsbad, CA, Kevin Frushone and his wife Stephanie of San Diego, CA, Tawnya Gibas of Edinboro; siblings, Ann Gibas, Millie Gerzina and her husband Joe, Walter Gibas and his wife Joan, Barb McKeta and her husband Dick, grandchildren, Allie Frushone, Jacob Frushone, Tyler Frushone, Chase Frushone, Aiden Frushone, Oliver Frushone, Benjamin Miskin, Maxwell Miskin, Hannah Miskin, Zachary Donaldson, Lucas Donaldson, Nicholas Hart, and several nieces and nephews.
Among those preceding Donald in death are his siblings, Ed Gibas, Frank Gibas, Archie Gibas, Jennie Slomski, and Rose Gluvna. Cremation and services will be private and at the family’s convenience.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Hampden Township Volunteer Fire Company , 295 South Sporting Hill Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
