Loved a Good Joke -
Donald “Pete” Jay McCauslin, age 71, of Carlisle , and formerly of Landisburg , died at home with his family on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Pete was born on Tuesday, February 16, 1943 to the late Ergie Elmer McCauslin and Margaret (Vogelsong) McCauslin. In addition to his parents, Pete is preceded in death by his two brothers.
Pete’s survivors include his eight children; his numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his five sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Pete attended Cumberland Valley High School as a member of the class of 1961. He joined the United States Army upon leaving school. He was a partner in and painter at BMB Painting in Landisburg. Pete was known to always say what was on his mind, and he constantly told jokes. He loved to hunt and fish and dreamt of gold mining in Alaska. Above all, Pete enjoyed spending time in the company of a lady. He embodied a true pioneering and independent spirit, and he lived life on his own terms.
All are welcome to join Pete’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Cremation was private, and scattering will be private and at the convenience of the family.
