Donald “Don” Alvin Hoffman, 75, of Mechanicsburg , and formerly of Shermansdale , died at home and with his loving wife by his side on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2013.  He was born in Shermansdale, PA, on Sunday, September 18, 1938, son of the late John C. Hoffman, Sr. and Clara (Books) Hoffman.  Don was the husband of Sarah Jane (Deitz) Hoffman whom he married on May 24, 1997.

Don’s survivors include his loving wife of 16 years, Sarah Jane (Deitz) Hoffman; his two daughters, Lisa Earnest of Lebanon, and Kristy Martson of Carlisle; his two step-children, Daniel Wenrich, Jr., of Duncannon, and Sharon Weakland of Carlisle; several grandchildren; his great-grandchild; his three brothers; his sister; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Among those preceding Don in death are his daughter, Dawn Monroe; his two brothers; and his three sisters.

Don attended Penn State York .  He retired after over 43 years of service as a computer analyst from Lear Corporation in Carlisle, PA, formerly C. H. Masland & Sons .  Don greatly enjoyed golf, which he played on Tuesdays, and playing cards, which he played on Thursdays.  His restored 1967 Mustang was one of his special delights.  Don loved spending time with his grandchildren who loved spending time with him.

All are welcome to join Don’s family at his viewing on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Pastor Gregory L. Sheffer officiating.  Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Mechanicsburg, PA.
