A Real Corker -

Doris A. (Dauberman) Royer, age 95, of Mechanicsburg, PA , and formerly having lived in many cities before retiring in Temecula, CA , died peacefully at Messiah Lifeways at Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg, PA, on Thursday, October 23, 2014.  Doris was born on Wednesday, August 20, 1919 in Canton, OH, to the late Charles Dauberman and Helen (Rose) Dauberman.  Doris was the widow of Clarence “CJ” Royer with whom she lived a true love story.  In addition to her husband, Doris is preceded in death by her son, David Hoffman.

Doris’ survivors include her three loving sons, Paul Hoffman of Mechanicsburg, PA, Chuck Hoffman of California, Roger Hoffman of Texas; her two step-sons: Lanny Royer, Lyle Royer; her 12 grandchildren; and her 11 great grandchildren.

Doris graduated from McKinley High School as part of the class of 1938.  She was grateful for everything in her life and will be remembered as a lovely person both inside and out.  An artist, she enjoyed both working in water color and oil.  Her love of art inspired her to help found the Temecula Valley Art League whose purpose is to promote interest in and encouragement of the arts in their members.  Doris loved dogs and enjoyed spending time with her canine companions.  Her family describes her as “a real corker” who took great joy in putting a smile to the face of others.

Doris’ family will privately share a time of final farewell and remembrance at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Bob Buhrig acting as celebrant.  Cremation will follow with interment in Crystal Cathedral Memorial Gardens in Garden Grove, CA, at the family’s convenience.

The family suggests that you remember Doris by sharing a random act of love and kindness with someone in your life and by sharing a gently touch with a canine companion.

Doris’ family has entrusted her care to Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory in Mechanicsburg, (717) 766-3421.  Read Doris’s full obituary and sign her official guest book at www.Myers-Buhrig.com .
