Doris Jean (Shoop) Stroh

Doris Jean (Shoop) Stroh, 78, of Lake Meade , and formerly of Mechanicsburg , died at Holy Spirit Hospital on Saturday, July 7, 2012. She was born in Highspire, on Sunday, May 20, 1934, daughter of the late Edward Shoop and Erma (Leedy) Shoop. Doris was the wife of Christian Samuel Stroh Jr., whom she married on May 18, 1961.
Doris graduated from Highspire High School as part of the class of 1952. She retired from Dillsburg Dairy Queen working there as a cake decorator. Doris was a member of the former Pentecostal Assembly of God Church in Mechanicsburg. She was a loving, loyal, patient, and feisty woman who just loved being a mom. Doris was very talented with arts and crafts and enjoyed reading her Bible.
Doris’s survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Christian Samuel Stroh, Jr. of Mechanicsburg; three children, Jacqueline Conley and her husband Paul of Houghton, ME, Melinda Cook and her husband William of Mechanicsburg, Christian Samuel Stroh III and his wife Alana of Hanover; a sister, Donna Bardo and her husband Steve of Harrisburg, a brother, Kenneth Beyers and wife Barbara of Mechanicsburg; an aunt and uncle, John and Irene Zell, who raised her; and several nieces and nephews.
The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to Holy Spirit Hospital, Moffitt Group, and US Renal , who so lovingly cared for Doris during her illness.
All are welcome to join Doris’s family at her viewing on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 1:00 until time of service at 2:00 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Reverend Terry Smith officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
