Dorothy Madeline (Clark) Lambert
Dorothy Madeline (Clark) Lambert, age 92, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Camp Hill, died peacefully at home in Bethany Village on Friday, August 12, 2016. Dorothy was born on Sunday, April 13, 1924 in Port Royal to the late James Irvin Clark and Nellie (Swartz) Clark.
Dorothy’s survivors include her husband of 71 years, William Thomas Lambert; her two sons: William Clark Lambert; Alan Barry Lambert and his wife, Cindy; her six grandchildren: Brandi R. Lambert, Jared M. Lambert, Marin E. Sassa, Ailsa P. Cowell, Lindsay A. Lambert, Alan Lee Lambert; her three great-grandchildren: Peyton Lee Harner, Heaven Leigh Harner and Rowan William Sassa.
A graduate of Port Royal Grade School, Dorothy graduated from Juniata Joint High School as class Treasurer and entered Thompson College in Harrisburg. While in Thompson College, she applied for war time Civil Service in Washington D.C. where she became a supply auditor for U.S. Navy war supplies. She met William T. Lambert (USMC) in Washington D.C. and they were married after the war in Harrisburg. After short employments, Dorothy became a mother to her two sons. She developed strong interests in health care, food nutrition and home making. Dorothy was a member of Port Royal United Methodist Church.
Dorothy’s family will be remembering her life privately and with the recent births of great grandchildren the family is celebrating life rather than death.
