A Very Active Person -

Dorothy P. (Denney) Robertson, age 96, of Mechanicsburg, PA, where she had been living for the last six years with her daughter, was called home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.  She was a former resident of Santa Maria, CA and Paradise, CA.  Dorothy was born on Tuesday, September 8, 1925, in Compton, CA to the late William Denney and Mabel Ellen (Riley) Denney.  She was the widow of William “Bill” Howard Robertson, whom she married on July 25, 1942, and who died on September 15, 1990.  In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy is preceded in death by her son, Gary Robertson in 1999 and her brother, Vernon Denney in 1959.

Dorothy’s survivors include her two children: Sharon Marie Leonard and husband, Leon, of Mechanicsburg, Michael Gene Robertson and wife, Tawna, of Elizabeth, CO; her grandchildren: Peter Robertson and wife, Kelly, of Bend, OR, Lori Richey and husband, Chad, of Albany, OR, Michael Leonard and wife, Maureen, of Collegeville, PA, Martin Leonard and wife, Jennifer, of Mechanicsburg, Lacey Schoonmaker and husband, Daniel, of Parker, CO; and her eight great-grandchildren: Jeffrey Leonard, Patrick Leonard, Megan Leonard, Coleton Richey, Madeline Richey, Chase Leonard, Taylor Leonard, Paislee Schoonmaker.

Dorothy was an extremely active person, who loved to bowl, go camping and fishing, and playing cards.  She enjoyed testing her luck at the casino.  Her family and friends will remember her as a good and happy person.  Dorothy will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Dorothy’s family will be celebrating her life privately.  Interment in Paradise Cemetery in Paradise, CA will be at the family’s convenience.  Cremation was private.
