She Cherished her Family -
Dorothy “Dottie” Mae (Woody) Eshelby, age 88, of Lewisberry, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Dottie was born on Tuesday, November 22, 1932, in Morgantown, West Virginia to the late Jesse Lee Woody and Edna Mae (Halt) Woody. Dottie was the widow of Mylow “Mike” Eshelby, whom she married on January 16, 1975, and who died on July 23, 1991. In addition to her parents and husband, Dottie is preceded in death by her two grandchildren: Cari Stailey, Jeremy McDade; and her four siblings: Plummer, Helen, Sadonna and Mary Catherine.
Dottie’s survivors include her six children: Robert “Rick” Alexander McDade and wife Tina of Etters, Richard “Rich” Allen McDade and wife Jody of Interlachen, FL, Ronald “Ron” McDade and girlfriend Mandy of York Springs, Rebecca “Becky” Ann Hevel of Lewisberry, Robin Arlene Stailey and husband Harry of Etters, Rochelle “Rocky” Annette Zuba and husband Jeffery of Wilmington, NC; her 13 grandchildren; her 22 great-grandchildren; her eight great-great-grandchildren; her five siblings: James, Jessie, Samuel, Dolores Jean, Sandra; and her several nieces and nephews.
Dottie retired from Rite Aid after many years of service working in the warehouse. She liked to play Bingo and played at many different locations. Dottie enjoyed window shopping; and loved to try her luck at the casinos, where she could be found playing the slot machines. Her family meant the most to her and she cherished the time that she spend with her children and grandchildren. Her family will greatly miss the love and support that she showered on all of them.
All are welcome to join Dottie’s family at her in-person viewing beginning at 10:15 a.m. and funeral service beginning at 11:45 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; or at her virtual gathering of family and friends, virtual viewing and service via video chat or telephone beginning at 11:25 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 with Celebrant George A. Spangler officiating. Burial will be in the Tri County Memorial Gardens in Lewisberry.
