Stubborn to the End -
Edward “Ed” Leroy Rabenstein, Sr., age 63, of Mechanicsburg, passed peacefully at West Shore Hospital while surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 10, 2015. Ed was born on Wednesday, August 20, 1952 in Altoona to the late John Lee Rabenstein and Jean Rabenstein. In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Rabenstein.

Ed was a long-time member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in New Kingstown, where he was active in many activities such as the apple festival and the haunted house. He was also a proud member of the New Kingtown Fire Company where he enjoyed serving as a driver and engineer. Ed loved hunting, fishing, working with his hands, and enjoying his pipe. Ed was a member of the North American Hunting Club as well. He found joy in scouting, where he was active for years and where he spent shared hours with his sons. The love Ed held in his heart for his grandchildren was profound and was express in his own reserved way.
