A Friend to Many -
Edward “Ed” Clarence Trump, Jr., age 65, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 4, 2022 after his battle with cancer. Ed was born on Tuesday, July 17, 1956, in Mechanicsburg to the late Edward Clarence Trump, Sr. and Kathryn “Kitty” M. (Russell) Trump.
Ed’s survivors include his wife of nearly 45 years, Dawna Fay (Basehore) Trump; his two children: Wesley Edward Trump and his husband, Matthew Foreman, of Clarence, NY; Casie Lea Trump and her fiancé, Lorne Hicks, Jr., of Mechanicsburg; his four grandchildren: Aisha, Tiana, Jace and Jayla; his sister, Deborah “Deb” Snyder and her partner, Steve Klechner, of Ickesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Ed was a loving husband of 45 years, father, grandfather and a friend to many. He enjoyed watching sports and was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. Ed was very proud of his family. He retired after working for 25 years as a receiving clerk for the Rite Aid Corp and eight years working for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Ed was involved with Boy Scout Troop 196 and was a long time member of the Mechanicsburg Club. His family and his many friends will miss him greatly.
All are welcome to join Ed’s family at his open house style gathering of family and friends on Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with his memorial service with a time of remembrance at 4:00 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory); with Rev. Dr. Richard E. Denison, Jr. officiating. Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots. Cremation was private.
