A Spiritual and Religious Woman -

Edwinnia “Winnie” Ruth (Brown) Fisher, age 84, of Camp Hill, and formerly of Dillsburg, went Home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 30, 2017.  Winnie was born on Friday, July 8, 1932 in Mechanicsburg to the late Harry Brown and Ruth (Shughart) Brown.  In addition to her parents, Winnie is preceded in death by her two sisters: Helen Eisenhauer and Frances Martzell.

Winnie’s survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Vincent “Vince” George Fisher; her three children: Victor “Vic” Fisher of Fairmont, WV, Clarissa “Chris” Fisher of Mechanicsburg, Maxine “Max” Wilder and her husband, Dale Pears, of Mechanicsburg; her three grandchildren: Michelle McBride, Nolan Wilder, Lauren Wilder; her great-granddaughter, Cora McBride; her sister, Isabelle Deardorff; and several nieces and nephews.

Winnie graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1949.  She attended Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Dillsburg and had been a devote Christian her entire life.  Winnie was a very spiritual and religious woman.  She enjoyed playing and watching various types of sports and in her younger years, played golf, basketball, softball, and bowling.  She would watch any sport, but her top pick was football especially if her favorite team, the Penn State Nittany Lions, were playing.  Winnie enjoyed going out to eat and she was an avid reader with a rather vast library.  She also liked to travel and would frequently attend at The Playhouse at Allenberry with her husband.  The two loved going to Montrose Bible Conference, the Smokey Mountains, and Myrtle Beach almost every year together.  Above all, Winnie loved her family and she cherished every day that she was able to spend with them.

All are welcome to join Winnie’s family at her viewing on Friday, July 7, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Wes Gunther officiating.  Winnie’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at The Stage & Studio Café, next door to the funeral home, following the service.  Burial will follow in Hershey Cemetery.  Honored to be pallbearers are Nolan Wilder, Dale Pears, and Victor Fisher.
