Winnie graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1949. She attended Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Dillsburg and had been a devote Christian her entire life. Winnie was a very spiritual and religious woman. She enjoyed playing and watching various types of sports and in her younger years, played golf, basketball, softball, and bowling. She would watch any sport, but her top pick was football especially if her favorite team, the Penn State Nittany Lions, were playing. Winnie enjoyed going out to eat and she was an avid reader with a rather vast library. She also liked to travel and would frequently attend at The Playhouse at Allenberry with her husband. The two loved going to Montrose Bible Conference, the Smokey Mountains, and Myrtle Beach almost every year together. Above all, Winnie loved her family and she cherished every day that she was able to spend with them.
