A Good Mother -

Eleanor Katheryn (Stehle) Lohry, age 95, of Mechanicsburg, joined her husband in heaven on Tuesday, March 27, 2018.  Eleanor was born on Friday, April 14, 1922 in Mechanicsburg to the late Frank Stehle and Zula (Kunkle) Stehle.  Eleanor was the widow of Charles Edward Lohry, who died on August 16, 1989.  In addition to her parents and husband, Eleanor is preceded in death by her four sisters: Dorothy (Stehle) Kitner, Mary (Stehle) Stitzel, Betty Jane (Stehle) Kosh, Frances Stehle; and her two brothers: Joseph Stehle, Frank C. Stehle.

Eleanor’s survivors include her son, Tony Lohry and his wife, Shelly, of New Cumberland; her four grandchildren: Ethen, Eleanor, Destiny, Charles; and her four great-grandchildren: Brianna, Izabella, Baily, and Paisley.

Eleanor was a former member of both First Church of God in Mechanicsburg and Young’s United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg.  She enjoyed camping, bingo, crochet, needle point and other crafting activities.  Eleanor was fiercely patriotic, never missing an opportunity to fly the American Flag and to decorate for every holiday.  She enjoyed traveling and actually traveled around the world.  Above all else, Eleanor was a good mother and a wonderful grandmother who loved her grandchildren, nieces and nephews deeply.  She looked forward to family gatherings where she spent time with those she loved the most.  She will be missed deeply and remembered forever.

Private burial will be at the convenience of the family in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens in Carlisle.
