Elizabeth “Lisa” Ann (Pasco) Elmore
Animal Lover and Rescuer -
Elizabeth “Lisa” Ann (Pasco) Elmore, age 56, of Reading, and formerly of Camp Hill, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Lisa was born on Thursday, December 3, 1959, in Norristown, PA to Frances (Skultety) Pasco and the late Richard Jude Pasco.
Lisa’s survivors include her boyfriend, Joseph “Joe” Salender of Reading; her one daughter, Anna Katherine Elmore of Mechanicsburg; her mother, Frances “Fran” Pasco of Mechanicsburg; her one sister, Christine E. Reed and her husband, Brian, of Camp Hill; her one brother, Richard “Rick” J. Pasco of Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews.
Lisa graduated from Cumberland Valley High School. She worked as a support clerk for Berks County Magisterial District Justice System for the past six years. Lisa’s passion since childhood was rescuing shelter and stray animals. She once helped a feral cat raise seven kittens that would have not survived otherwise, and domesticated all of them to be fit for adoption. Lisa kept the mother as a pet and drove the kittens all the way to New Jersey to their permanent homes. Her intensely sensitive nature turned Lisa's passion into a calling as a daily volunteer for Urgent Pets on Death Row, an organization dedicated to saving shelter animals of New York City. Not only was she sensitive and caring, Lisa was incredibly smart. She spoiled her daughter and would always include the words, “beautiful” or “perfect” when speaking of her. Lisa will be missed by those who knew her and the animals she loved.
All are welcome to join Lisa’s family at her visitation on Friday, May 6, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Kipp Penrod officiating. Burial will be private in St. John’s Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.
In lieu of flowers and in celebration of Lisa’s life, the family suggests adopting a shelter animal from Urgent Pets on Death Row or from another animal rescue organization. Monetary donations may be made in Lisa’s memory online at www.UrgentPODR.org.
