27 Year Bethany Resident -

Elma Thomas Kreps, 91, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Clarks Summit died at Holy Spirit Hospital on Friday, April 6, 2012. She was born in Scranton on Tuesday, August 10, 1920 daughter of the late David M. Thomas and Irene N. (Truex) Thomas. Elma was the widow of Maurice Weast Kreps who she married on February 20, 1965, and who died on February 15, 1999.

Elma was a 27 year member of Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church in Mechanicsburg. She has been a resident of Bethany Village since 1985 where she served as the President of the Residence Council for many years. Elma helped to found the “Snack Shop” where she worked as a volunteer. She loved to share a meal with her good friends and always enjoyed making new friends.

Elma’s survivors include her loving son: Roger Davis Kreps and his wife Debbie of Enola; her granddaughter: Heather Kreps Luta and her children Madeline and Gwendolyn all of Mechanicsburg. Among those preceding Elma in death are her two brothers: Gaylord Thomas and Kenneth Thomas.

All are welcome to join Elma’s family on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, for her viewing from 9:30 until time of Casket Closing Ceremony at 10:00 and then for her visitation from 10:15 until time of funeral service at 11:00 all to be held in the Bethany Village East Community Room , 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17055, with Pastor Myrtle E. McCall officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.
