Erin Heather (Erlinger) Verzella , age 40, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Saint Louis, Kansas City, and Orlando, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016. Erin was born on Friday, May 14, 1976 in Caldwell, ID to Joseph Gerrard Erlinger and Jacqueth Lynette (Lacquement) Erlinger. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bert and Rose Lacquement.
Erin is survived by her loving husband of five years, Robert “Bob” Earl Verzella; her two daughters: Abigail and Olivia Verzella of Mechanicsburg, PA; her parents: Joseph Gerrard Erlinger and Jacqueth Lynette (Lacquement) Erlinger of St. Louis, MO; her two siblings: Joshua Erlinger of Saint Louis, MO, Kathryn Erlinger of Kansas City, KS; her paternal grandparents, Bud and Helen Erlinger; and her parents in law, Tom and Maureen Verzella of Altoona, PA.
Erin graduated from Affton High School as part of the class of 1994 and from the University of Missouri with two bachelor’s degrees, one in cultural anthropology and the other in world religions. She liked to sew and do different types of crafts. Erin enjoyed going to music festivals, museums, and musicals; she had always wanted to go to Broadway. Another thing she loved to do was to read, especially fantasy novels. Erin liked to watch comedies and to laugh; she had a wild laugh that everyone knew as hers. She loved animals, especially her dogs and cats she had at home. Above all, Erin loved her daughters and would do anything for them. She will be deeply missed by many.
All are welcome to join Erin’s family at her memorial service on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in the Lourdes Grotto, 442 South Demazenod Drive, Belleville, IL 62223. Cremation was private.
