Erland “Earl” Emery Fuller
Passion for Telephones -
Erland “Earl” Emery Fuller, age 92, of Camp Hill, died on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Earl was born on Thursday, March 5, 1925 in Buckfield, ME to the late Edwin Ellery Fuller and Hattie Isabel (Jordan) Fuller. Earl was the widower of Mary Jane (Mingle) Fuller, whom he married on November 11, 1950, and who died on July 10, 1984.
Earls’s survivors include his loving and devoted daughter, Trevette Marie Fuller of Camp Hill; his son, Jordan Thomas Fuller of Lebanon; and his two granddaughters.
Earl graduated from Canton High School in Canton, ME as part of the class of 1942 and from Becker Business College in Worcester, MA. He worked for W. W. Stribling Associates in Atlanta, GA as an insurance examiner. Later, he served as the treasurer of Merchants & Business Men's Insurance Company in Harrisburg, PA. Trevette remembers her father with these words: “I know how much my dad loved me – he told me often. He loved to tell jokes. He loved animals – especially dogs and cats. He loved to do things for other people. My dad was gentle, kind, stubborn, opinionated, and generous. He loved to sit in his recliner and watch TV or nap. He loved chocolate and my home-made chicken salad. My dad loved music and often sang in church choirs or played the organ. He was a good dancer in his younger days. My dad’s passion was telephones – he grew up operating a switchboard and loved anything to do with telephones from old fashioned candle stick phones to modern cell phones.” Earl will surely be missed by Trevette and all those who knew and loved him.
