A Strong Woman -

Erma V. (Zook) Mayberry, 92, a resident of Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home , Carlisle and formerly of Mechanicsburg went to be with the Lord on Sunday May 6, 2012 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born in Shepherdstown on Thursday, October 2, 1919, daughter of the late Asa and Mabel (Harlan) Zook.

Erma was a God loving woman and a great mother. She loved to collect dolls, listening to music and shopping. Erma enjoyed nature and especially feeding the birds, squirrels and bunnies.

Erma’s survivors include her loving children: Doris Maxwell of Marysville , Edward Mayberry of Enola; Dianne Clouser and her husband Kenneth of New Bloomfield; Trudy Mancuso and her husband John of Mechanicsburg; Rick Mayberry and his wife Catherine of Enola;17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; a brother Asa Zook of Mechanicsburg and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Erma in death are a son Robert Mayberry; two grandsons: Pal Maxwell and Michael Mayberry; a great-granddaughter Tatum Miller; four brothers and two sisters.

All are welcome to join Erma’s family at her viewing on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 and on Thursday, May 10, 2012, from 11:00 until time of service at 11:30 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, 17055, with Pastor Randy Zook, her nephew, officiating.
Burial will immediately follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
