Erma (Manning) Tillman, age 97, of Willow Street , died at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on October 3, 2014. She was born on June 27, 1917 in Conestoga to the late Benjamin Manning and Katie (Campbell) Manning. Erma was the widow of Ira B. Tillman to whom she was married for 55 years. In addition to her parents and husband, Erma is preceded in death by her sister, Bertha Eckman and a nephew, Newell Eckman.
Erma’s survivors include nephew, Richard Eckman and his wife Verna of Mechanicsburg and a niece Jean Eckman.
Erma retired from RCA with over 27 years of service. She was a member of Green Hill United Methodist Church in Conestoga, where she played the piano and was very active in other church organizations. Erma enjoyed crafts, crocheting and anything to do with flowers.
All are welcome to join Erma’s family at her Gathering of Family and Friends on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Green Hill United Methodist Church , 5801 River Road, Conestoga, PA 17516, with Pastor Donald C. Sweimler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
