Ernest “Ernie” “Don” Ferdinand Bacuño Peña, 39, of Jersey City , and formerly of Los Angeles, CA , and Mechanicsburg , died suddenly and unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. He was born in Quezon City in the Philippines, on Wednesday, June 13, 1973.
Ernie graduated from Cedar Cliff High School as part of the class of 1989. He worked as an independent information technology support consultant within the Media Industry. Ernie was an extremely talented photographic artist. He was always happy, so much so that he earned the title “Jolly Photographer.” His all too short life brought joy to many and he will be greatly missed.
Ernie’s survivors include his loving parents, Ernesto Cano Peña and Maria (Bacuño) Peña of Mechanicsburg; his two sisters, Maria “Maita” Thelma Bacuño Peña of Maryland, Maria “Myla” Leonora Bacuño Peña with her husband Benjamin Fenton and their daughter Riley all of Virginia.
All are welcome to join Ernie’s family at his viewing on Friday, December 14, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 and at his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church , 400 East Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with the Reverend David M. Hereshko celebrating. A Committal Service will immediately follow the Mass. A time of remembrance will begin at 11:15 a.m. in Brindle Hall at St. Joseph Catholic Church where a reception will immediately follow. Cremation and burial will be private and at the family’s convenience.
The family respectfully asks that contributions be made in Ernie’s memory to help defray his final expenses.
