Esther Alma (Springman) Lauchle Shumberger

Esther Alma (Springman) Lauchle Shumberger, age 92, of Carlisle, and formerly of Montoursville and Mechanicsburg, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022.  Esther was born on Sunday, February 9, 1930, in Montoursville to the late Gerald Frederick Springman and Bertha Emma (Fry) Springman.  In addition to her parents, Esther is preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene LaRue Lauchle; and her two brothers: Marvin Springman and Arnold Springman.

Esther’s survivors include her husband of nine years, Paul Edward Shumburger of Carlisle; her two children: Donna Scotto and her husband, Joseph “Joe”, of Mechanicsburg; Curtis Lauchle and his wife, Terri, of Pennsdale; her 12 grandchildren; her nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to the Chaplain and staff at Chapel Pointe Alzheimer’s Unit who so lovingly cared for Esther during her illness.
