Eugene “Bud” L. Quigley, 86, of Mechanicsburg , and formerly of Duncannon , died peacefully at Select Specialty Hospital on Tuesday, October 15, 2013.  He was born in Duncannon, on Thursday, August 18, 1927, son of the late Hugh Whitfield Quigley and Catherine Mae (Lepperd) Quigley.  Bud was the husband of Virginia Mae (Goodling) Quigley whom he married on June 9, 1951, and who survives him.

Bud’s survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia Mae (Goodling) Quigley of Mechanicsburg; his son, Robert Quigley and his wife Susan of Mechanicsburg; his grandson, Jon Quigley of Mechanicsburg; his granddaughter, Lauren Quigley of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews.  Among those preceding Bud in death are his three sisters, Helen Kelly, Catherine Stuckey, and Vannie Brunner.

Bud graduated from Duncannon High School as part of the class of 1945.  He retired in 1985 as a crane operator from Bethlehem Steel in Steelton, after 15 years of service.  Bud enjoyed traveling with his wife with some of the most memorable trips being to: Hawaii, Alaska, Memphis, and the Smokey Mountains.  He greatly enjoyed deer hunting and loved all flavors of ice cream.  Bud found great pleasure in fixing, tinkering, repairing, and rigging anything and everything.  His handy work will be missed.

All are welcome to join Bud’s family at his Gathering of Family and Friends on Saturday, October 19, 2013, from 11:30 until time of Memorial Service at 12:00 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Pastor Michael V. Minnix officiating, where Military Honors will be presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard , immediately following the service.  Bud’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Snappers Bar & Grill , 120 East Allen Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, immediately following Military Honors.  Interment of Bud’s cremated remains will be private and at the family’s convenience in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery .

The family suggests memorial contributions to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation , 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
