Generous, Loving & Feisty -

Eva R. (Ward) Fisher, 87, of Mechanicsburg , died at Harrisburg Hospital on Wednesday, March 20, 2013.  She was born in Lemoyne, on Thursday, December 31, 1925, daughter of the late Howard Ward and Bertha (Snyder) Ward.  Eva was the widow of Meril Samuel Fisher whom she married on December 24, 1946 and who died on May 30, 1988.

Eva’s survivors include her loving son, Ronald Fisher and his wife Candace of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Kerri Farey, Tim Thomas, Kathie Deimler, Tina Fisher, Kelley Weist, Scott Fisher, Bryan Fisher; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Eva in death are her son, Meril Dean Fisher; her siblings, Ramsey Ward, Paul Ward, Harry Ward, Maynard Ward, Betty Hart, and Mary Dobbs.

Eva graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1943.  She retired from the Navy Depot in Mechanicsburg, after 37 years of service working as an electronics technician.  After retirement, Eva was an independent contractor with Unified Industries Inc. and Summit Technologies .  Eva was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg.  She loved, more than anything, to be with her family.  Eva would often ask ten different relatives to take out her trash hoping they would all show up and visit with her. Family was everything to Eva, no matter how extended the relation.

All are welcome to join Eva’s family at her viewing on Monday, March 25, 2013, from 12:30 until time of service at 1:30 at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church , 117 West Keller Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Pastor Randall J. Marburger officiating. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill . Eva’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church following the burial. The family suggests memorial contributions to her church.
