Evan Gall
An Outstanding Father, Husband, and Son -
Evan Gall, age 31, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Evan was born on Friday, August 16, 1991, in Butler, PA to Timothy and Kassie Gall. Evan was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Evan’s survivors include his wife of three years, Kaylin (Skaggs) Gall; his son Ryker; his parents: Timothy and Kassie Gall of Mechanicsburg; his sister Olivia Gall of Mechanicsburg; and his beloved Golden Retriever: Ziggy.
Evan graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 2010. After graduation, he attended Harrisburg Area Community College.
For the past 4 years, Evan worked for Capital Blue Cross as a machine operator in their print shop, where he was described as a “Rising Star”. He previously worked for Patriot News in the same capacity.
Evan attended Vibrant Christian Church in Mechanicsburg and previously belonged to Community Alliance Church in Harrisburg, where he participated in small groups with Kaylin.
Evan loved listening to podcasts about true crime, paranormal, mysteries and offbeat topics. He recently submitted his research to his favorite podcast and was thrilled when they used his material on their show and credited him on air for his submission. Evan also loved trivia and he and Kaylin would attend local Trivia nights. He was what some would consider a history buff.
Evan was mechanically inclined; always building, repairing, and creating “hacks” to improve and streamline all his projects. He further honed his skills when he purchased his first home, where he easily learned how to install tile flooring and carpet; cut and install crown molding; and handle plumbing and minor electrical matters. Evan was proud of his work and thought he was the next “Tim the Toolman”. He also enjoyed sharing and helping others with his newly acquired skills.
He was a completely dedicated father who deeply loved his son. Evan attended all of Ryker's school functions, and all athletic events. Evan helped to coach Ryker’s baseball teams for multiple seasons. Evan practiced and taught Ryker to hone his baseball skills, so much so that Ryker was selected to be part of the All-Star Team. He was extremely proud of Ryker and all his achievements. Evan created a routine of reading to Ryker at bedtime, starting when Ryker was a baby, which quickly became a tradition for them and continued to this day. Evan was the type of father that was also a best friend, whether playing sports in the yard to spending countless hours building Lego’s. He introduced Ryker to his love of the outdoors, by teaching him to fish, which turned into a mutual passion. There are few bodies of water in the area they didn’t fish.
Evan was at home outdoors, spending a great deal of time on the waterways, whether fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, hiking, etc. These activities became more special when Kaylin and Ryker shared these interests, and many wonderful memories were forged. Evan was able to realize his dream to go deep-sea fishing in 2022, where he was able to deep-sea fish off the coast of Florida.
Evan was an Outstanding Father, husband, son, friend, and co-worker. Evan would do anything to help a friend, stranger, neighbor, or family member with whatever they needed. Evan always put others first, even if it meant he would go without. He was full of compassion, kindness, love, wit, funny, sensitive, and considerate to all. He enjoyed a good joke even if it was at his expense.
It is impossible to put all that he was in an obituary. We would like everyone to know Evan was more, so much more, to those of us that had the privilege to know, love and have him in our life. Evan, we love you, we miss you endlessly. It was our honor to have you as a son, husband, father, brother, and friend.
