Faye Arlene Rehm

Faye Arlene Rehm, aged 77 years, of Baltimore, MD and formerly of Carlisle, PA, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on September 10th, 2021.  Faye was born on September 30th, 1943 of her late parents Tolbert and Mary (Brownawell) Vogelsong.  Faye was the widow of Harry Edward Rehm Jr., whom she married on March 31st, 1962, and who died on January 1st, 1994.  In addition to her parents and husband, Faye is preceded in death by all seven of her siblings: Minnie (Vogelsong) Sheaffer, Lester, Sylvan, Thelma, Tolbert (Mike), Richard (Buck) and Walter (Butch) Vogelsong; eight of her nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved dogs Rosie and Rex.

Faye’s survivors include her two daughters: Mary Elizabeth (Rehm) Aunquoe and Tonia Lee (Rehm) Trotta; two sons in law: James Ray and Joeseph Michael Sr., as well as her four grandchildren: Joeseph Michael Trotta Jr., Jennifer Lynn (Trotta) Stivers, Sherry Arlene Schwarz, and Sommer Rose Trotta.  Faye also leaves behind her 37 nieces and nephews and her closest friends Denise Miller and Karren Salmon.

Faye graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in Carlisle, PA as part of the class of 1961.  She was most well known as her role as a waitress/server at Obrycki’s, Karson’s Inn, and most recently the Sparrows Point Restaurant, serving up witty, confrontational service to her customers, which always had them coming back for more.  She has been described by her fans as a “firecracker,” but was also known for her hard-working, loving, generous, and kind demeanor.  In her spare time, Faye loved to plant flowers and vegetables in her garden, solving puzzles and crosswords, playing board games, and spending time with her family.  Faye was also a lover of nature and always dreamed of traveling to Alaska.  She was able to make that dream come true in 2017 when she took the majority of her immediate family on a two-week cruise and bus tour trip, where she was able to pan for gold, eat Alaskan king crab legs, ride with sled dogs, learn about Inuit culture, and ride through the Alaskan countryside on a train.  She always wanted to make others’ lives easier, even if she made it harder at times due to her stubbornness.  But no matter what, even if you were in disagreement with her on a particular topic, she still made it clear that she loved you and would leave you with a hug, a kiss on the mouth, and an “I love you.”

All are welcome to join Faye’s family at her viewings on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., as well as Wednesday, September 15th, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until time of service at 5:00 p.m. all at Kaczorowski Funeral Home, 1201 Dundalk Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21222.  Another viewing will be held at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 on Thursday, September 16th, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Food will be provided between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory).  Another viewing will take place at Buhrig’s on Friday, September 17th, 2021, from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m.  Burial will take place at Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Enola beginning at approximately 2:45 p.m.  A reception will follow burial beginning at approximately 3:45 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory).
