Frances Jean (Grant) Kelly, age 68, of Mechanicsburg , died at Health South Rehab Hospital on Sunday, November 2, 2014. Frances was born on Wednesday, April 3, 1946 in Harrisburg to the late Bennett Francis Grant and Anna Jean (Ahlborn) Grant. Frances was the widow of David Charles Kelly, to whom she was married for 16 years, and who died on March 15, 1983. In addition to her parents and husband, Frances is preceded in death by her son, Robert Bennett Kelly.
Frances’ survivors include her son, Sean Kelly and his wife, Keely, of Mechanicsburg; her granddaughters: Trystan Salvador and Madeline Kelly; her siblings: Judith Himes and her husband, Howard, of Harrisburg, Margaret Johnson and her husband, Terry, of Hummelstown, William Grant and his wife, Kathleen, of Mechanicsburg, Bennett Grant of Harrisburg, Richard Grant of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Frances graduated from Central Dauphin East High School as part of the class of 1964. She was a waitress for 17 years at Brothers Restaurant in Mechanicsburg. Frances was a warm and caring woman. She loved her television shows, movies, and reading. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed practical jokes. Frances loved her neighbors, Betty and Bernie, who became part of her family for over 30 years. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and her inspiration. They were truly her “greatest joy.”
All are welcome to join Frances’ family at her gathering of family and friends on Friday, November 7, 2014, from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Memorial Park in Camp Hill. Frances’ family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Hoss’s Steak & Sea House in Mechanicsburg, following the burial.
