Frank Herman Konchar

Frank Herman Konchar, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and formerly of Asheville, NC and Jackson, MI, died on Sunday, January 5, 2025, peacefully in his home at the age of 89. Frank proudly served in the United States Army and earned degrees from The Pennsylvania State University and Lehigh University. He served in several management positions with Consumers Power Co. before retiring to Asheville, NC. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Janet (Hobbes) Konchar in 2010.

Frank is survived by his four children: Frank Martin Konchar and wife, Judy, of Etters, Sonya Janette Mengel and husband, Robert, of Beaver, PA, Mark Douglas Konchar and wife, Jennifer, of Centreville, VA, Katie Marie Konchar and husband, Christopher Uejio, of Tallahassee, FL; his nine grandchildren; and his three great grandchildren.

Frank’s family will be celebrating his life in Forest City, PA to include military honors and in Asheville, NC in the coming months. Service details will be announced at Buhrig.com when arrangements have been finalized.
