Husband, Father, Devoted Caregiver
Frank Renzo, 73, of Mechanicsburg , died at home on Friday, February 15, 2013. He was born in New Albany, PA, on Thursday, November 23, 1939, and was the son of the late Martin Renzo, Sr. and Mollie (Barnett) Renzo.
Frank’s survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Joan Ann “Jo Ann” (DeMarco) Renzo; his five children, Joel Renzo of New York, Sherry Renzo of Carlisle, Lauren Renzo of Mechanicsburg, Frank Renzo of Maryland and his son Zack, Johnathan Renzo of Mechanicsburg; two brothers, James Renzo and his wife Marjorie, Martin Renzo, Jr. and his wife Jerri; two sisters, Ann Wilcox and her husband Norman, Betty Adsett and her husband Paul; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Frank in death are his brother, John Renzo, and his sister, Rose Daley.
Frank proudly served in the United States Marine Corps , as a marksman and in guarding the National Security Administration (NSA) . He spent his professional life in private label sales in the grocery industry. Frank was a devoted caretaker to his son, Johnathan, and then later to his wife, Jo Ann. He spent the last year of his life in the tireless pursuit of obtaining Johnathan a spot on the kidney transplant list. Frank enjoyed a wide array of hobbies which included watching football, hunting with his brothers and fishing with his grandson, Zack. Frank was an heirloom tomato hobbyist and successfully cultivated grapes producing several vintages of wine. He single handedly built a two-story garage and deck on his home and was recognized as a high-quality woodworker.
All are welcome to join Frank’s family at his visitation on Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 1:30 until time of service at 2:30 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Deacon Jack Paruso officiating and where military honors will be presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard . Cremation was private and interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mechanicsburg will be at the family’s convenience. Frank's family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Snappers Bar & Grill in Mechanicsburg following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share a random act of kindness with an elderly or a disabled person.
