Frankie Juan Rivera, age 33, of Camp Hill, died at home on Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Frankie was born on Thursday, October 28, 1982 in Brooklyn, NY to Frank Rivera and Elba Iris (Garcia) Reyes.
Frankie’s survivors include his wife of 11 years, Emilie (Jerome) Rivera; his three children: A.J., Alexander, Adrianna; his mother, Elba Reyes; and his two sisters: Ericaline Reyes-Garcia and Chrissy Rivera; and several nieces and nephews.
Frankie graduated from Crosby High School in Waterbury, CT as part of the class of 2000. Frankie served in the United States Marine Corps for 13 years and completed two tours in Iraq as a part of the Marine Expeditionary Unit. He was a decorated veteran with a Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, and Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation. Frankie worked at Naval Support Activity in Mechanicsburg in cyber forensic security and was a member of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 1156. He had a passion for rapping and entertaining people as a stand-up comedian, and Frankie also enjoyed reading and writing. He was a natural born leader who always became the center of attention. Frankie was a devoted husband and great father who loved to teach his children.
All are welcome to join Frankie’s family at his viewing on Friday, February 5, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Jon Uhlinger officiating. Military honors will be presented by Cumberland County Honor Guard. Everyone is welcome to join Frankie’s family at his viewing in Connecticut on Monday, February 8, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06702. Interment will be at the family’s convenience. Cremation will be private.
