Fred Vlasek
Loved His Family -
Fred Vlasek, age 89, of Carlisle, and formerly of Mechanicsburg and Frackville, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019. Fred was born on Wednesday, September 4, 1929 in Frackville to the late Sophie Clark. In addition to his mother, Fred is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth M. Vlasek.
Fred’s survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Mary (Dorsch) Vlasek; his daughter, Nancy Vlasek of Mechanicsburg; and his beloved feline companion, Max.
Fred proudly served in the United States Army and then graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s of business administration. He retired from M.C. Walker Realty in Mechanicsburg, after many years of service working as a real estate agent. Prior to his retirement, Fred owned and operated Fred Vlasek Real Estate in Camp Hill. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill for 30 years. Fred was a former member of VFW Memorial Post 6704, American Legion Post #109, and West Shore Elks Lodge 2257. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing cards, particularly Poker. Being a real estate agent, Fred found himself doing all the fixing around the house. He liked completing all the repairs and renovations because that was a part of taking care of his family. Fred was an excellent provider and a hard worker; he always made sure his family had what they needed.
All are welcome to join Fred’s family at his graveside service on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1313 South York Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Deacon Francis C. Gorman officiating.
