Cherished Her Family -

Freda Marie (Hall) Klase, age 87, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Dauphin, passed away at home and surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.  Freda was born on Monday, December 25, 1933, in Lawrence, KS to the late Alton Luther Hall and Verian Bell (Flickinger) Hall.  Freda was the widow of Grant “Sonny” Elsworth Klase, who died on October 25, 1995.  In addition to her parents and husband, Freda is preceded in death by her two brothers: Stanley Eugene Hall, Alton Hall, Jr.; her two sisters: Alda Romaine Hall, Verien Louise Hall; and her three beloved canines: Cher, Cody and Sammi.

Freda’s survivors include her two daughters: Brenda Marie Klase of Mechanicsburg; Shirley Dianne Taylor and husband, John, of Dauphin; her grandson: John “Jack” Charles Taylor and wife, Kimberly, of Harrisburg; her three great-grandchildren: MacKenzie, Jackson and Zachary; her brother, Frank Hall, of Duncannon; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companion: Sweetie.

Freda graduated from Juniata Joint High School as part of the class of 1951.   Freda was a long-time member of Clarks Valley Zion Evangelical Congregation Church in Dauphin. She was an active member, who enjoyed the fellowship of her church family during the many church activities.  She was a Red Hat Society member and attended the Senior Citizens Group in Dauphin. Freda was an avid gardener, who spent hours tending the many flowers in her garden. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels in her backyard.  Freda cherished her family and friends; and loved the time that she spent at her grandson’s and great grandchildren’s activities.  Her family and friends will greatly miss her.

Freda’s family will be remembering her life privately.  Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dauphin will be at the family’s convenience.  Cremation was private.
