Devoted Wife, Loving Mother, and Adoring Grandmother -
Frimet (Andelman) Josephson, age 87, of Mechanicsburg , and formerly of Newburgh, NY , died on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Frimet was born on Saturday, February 4, 1928 in Providence, RI to the late David Andelman and Sara (Pass) Andelman.
Frimet’s survivors include her loving husband of 37 years, Dr. Joseph Josephson; her son, Charles Levinson and his partner, Peggy Thompson; her daughter, Robyn Cartuyvelles and her husband, Richard; her son, Scott Levinson and his wife, Marla; her son, Larry Levinson and his wife, Kelly; her daughter, Bertha D. Josephson and her wife, Margaret Kierstein; her eleven grandchildren: Tracy, Brittni, Barri, Bram, Lindsey, Carly, David, Shana, Zachery, Michael, Amanda; her two great-grandchildren, Madison and Sydney; and her sister, Lois, brother-in-law, George Handler, and their children, Sandy and Marcie.
Frimet developed her love of the seashore in her early childhood in Providence. She moved to Newburgh, NY as a young teenager and made many lifelong friends growing up there. Frimet raised her four children in Newburgh and married Joseph in April of 1978. They enjoyed many happy years in Newburgh before moving to Mechanicsburg, PA in 1988, and beginning a new chapter in Pennsylvania. Frimet loved going to the symphony, and she loved art; developing her own artistic talent as a painter later in life. She was a gracious and popular hostess and a wonderful cook. Frimet was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by family and many lifelong friends.
All are welcome to join Frimet’s family at her committal service on Friday, May 29, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery , 706 Route 9W, Newburgh, New York 12550; with Cantor Andre Stanler officiating. Burial will immediate follow the service. Frimet’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Lois Handler’s home. A memorial service at Bethany Village in Mechanicsburg will be held on a date to be determined.
