Gail Lee (Gilman) Prescott

Gail Lee (Gilman) Prescott, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2015, at age 79.  She was surrounded by family, including Roy Prescott, her beloved husband of 57 years.  Born to Dorothy and Lloyd Gilman, she grew up outside Philadelphia, and graduated from Penn State University in 1958. Upon graduation, she married Roy and they lived in the Harrisburg/Camp Hill area for the past 53 years.

In addition to Roy, Gail is survived by their three children: Karen Prescott Dalby, Cindy Prescott Kuster, and Stephen Lloyd Prescott, and their seven children; by the six Vietnamese children she and Roy took in and who became part of the family:  Le Thi Thanh Bach, Ngan Thi Vu, Le Quang Sang, Le Quang Sang (Scott), Le Quang Dien (Dave), and Jeanne (Nguyet) Le Kelly, and their six children; and by numerous others who called her “mom.”

Gail’s generosity of spirit, commitment to education, and zaniness were unmatched.  She enjoyed giving, without expecting or requiring anything in return, and was a kind, caring, devoted friend and mother.  Her innumerable acts of kindness made her loved by many.  She loved traveling and playing bridge, and was a gifted pianist.  She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at Bethany Village in the Community Room on Saturday, November 28 , at 2:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org .

Gail’s family has entrusted her care to Myers – Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory in Mechanicsburg, (717) 766-3421.  Read Gail’s full obituary, view her memorial portrait, and sign her official guest book at www.Myers-Buhrig.com .
