Gary Lako Biller

Family Was Most Important -

Gary Lako Biller, age 73, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Dillsburg, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.  Gary was born on Thursday, May 24, 1945 in Harrisburg to Dorothy Winifred (Markel) Biller and the late Lako David Biller.

Gary’s survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sally (Brenneman) Biller; his two children: Gary Biller and his wife, Shelley, of Camp Hill, Shannon Hammel and her husband, Steven, of Dillsburg; his four grandchildren: Mackenzie, Wyatt, Owen, Hannah; his mother, Dorothy Biller of Dillsburg; his five siblings: Galen Biller and his wife, Vicky, of Dillsburg, Gilbert “Gib” Biller and his wife, Lisa, of Dillsburg, Gerald “Gerry” Biller and his wife, Priscilla, of Mechanicsburg, Jaynie Pontz and her husband, Craig, of Dauphin, Joyce Morley and her husband, George, of Mechanicsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary graduated from Northern York High School as part of the class of 1963 and then served in the United States National Guard Reserves.  He retired from FCI, formerly Berg Electronics, Inc., in 2000, after nearly 25 years of service working as a supervisor.  Gary also served as a tax preparer at Brenneman and Biller Tax Preparation in Shiremanstown.  After the passing of Mr. Brenneman, Gary moved the business to Mechanicsburg where it became Gary L. Biller Tax Preparation.  He was a member of Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church since 2000.  Gary was also a member of The Mechanicsburg Club, Partly Mine Hunting Camp in Cammal, PA, and a former member of the American Legion Post #109 in Mechanicsburg.

Gary was an avid softball player and coach as well as a big fan of the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys.  Whenever he wasn’t watching or playing a game, Gary could be found playing Poker or throwing dice.  Above all else, family was the most important to him.  Gary loved to make memories with his family and was especially interested in the lives of his grandchildren.  He enjoyed all the family dinners, trips to the Outer Banks, NC, and throwing horseshoes together.  When the kids were growing up, Gary never missed one of their sporting events.  Whether it was basketball or football, he was always there, cheering the kids on as loudly as he could.

All are welcome to join Gary’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. with a service to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church, 300 East Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Kathryn Z. Johnston officiating.  Gary’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at his church following the service.  Cremation was private.

The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to Reuben, the physical therapist, and Courtney, the charge nurse, as well as everyone at Forest Park Health Center and Rehabilitation who so lovingly cared for Gary during his illness.
