Gary Lee Johnson, 64, of Mechanicsburg , died at Carlisle Regional Medical Center on Friday, July 26, 2013. He was born in Steubenville, OH, on Monday, May 9, 1949, son of Irene Elizabeth (Rector) Johnson and the late William Ray Johnson.  Gary was the husband of Eloise (White) Johnson whom he married on July 21, 1967.

Gary’s survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Eloise; his children, Brian Johnson of Mechanicsburg, Brady Johnson and his wife Donna of Dillsburg, Stephanie Livingston of Camp Hill, Brent Johnson of Mechanicsburg, Nick Johnson of Mechanicsburg; his grandchildren, Dylan, Brent, Rachael, Kathryn, Zach, Chase, Nicole; his mother, Irene of Carrollton, OH; his siblings, Bill Johnson and his wife Betty of Carrollton, OH, Bob Johnson and his wife Mary of Dennison, OH, Joann Hillard and her husband Ed of Carrollton, OH; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Smokey.

Gary graduated from Carrollton High School as part of the class of 1968.  He retired in 2002 from Cresline Plastic Pipe in Mechanicsburg, after 30 years of service working as a supervising manager.  Gary also worked at Land O’Lakes in Mt. Holly Springs.  He loved bass fishing and taking care of his yard. Gary was a kind, caring man who would never say no to anybody in need.  Family was the most important part of his life.

Services, cremation, and interment will be private and at the family’s convenience.
