Gary was born on Sunday, April 26, 1953, in Harrisburg to the late James “Jim” Robert Stump and Eloise Kathryn (Dissinger) Stump. Gary graduated from Middletown High School as part of the class of 1971 and from Shippensburg University. He retired from Naval Support Activity Depot in Mechanicsburg in 2010, after several years working as a systems analyst. Gary was known for his precise, analytical mind, his creation of great lists, his planning and organizational skills, and his hard-working spirit; all of which served him well in his passion for home improvement projects. He was incredibly handy and completely remodeled several houses that he and Brenda owned. Gary was also a model train enthusiast and a really good cook and grill master. His family fondly remembers Gary as a man of conviction with strong opinions, as well as a funny man with a wicked sense of humor and sarcasm.
