Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, & Brother -
Gene A. Edmondson, age 78, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Gene was born on Monday, October 23, 1939 in Linglestown to the late Jack Edmondson, Sr. and Fay (Herman) Sollenberger.
Gene’s survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Sally (Pryor) Edmondson; his two children: Brian Edmondson and Brian’s daughter, Avery, of Mechanicsburg, Kristine Amsbaugh and her husband, Michael, of Mechanicsburg; his brother, Jack Edmondson, Jr. of Linglestown; and his three nieces.
Gene graduated from Central Dauphin High School. He retired from his body repair business, Gene’s Body Shop, in Mechanicsburg, after 25 years of service. Gene was a member of the Middletown Moose Lodge 410 and American Legion Post #109 in Mechanicsburg. He was a former member of the Mechanicsburg Club and Cumberland Valley Harley Owners Group. Gene loved riding motorcycles and vacationing with his riding buddies. He enjoyed doing things with his kids, golfing, traveling, working outside, and gardening. Gene treasured the special time that he was able to spend with his granddaughter, Avery, and he always looked forward to the next time they would be together.
Gene’s family will be remembering his life privately. Cremation was private.
