George Phillip Irish Sr

George Phillip Irish Sr, age 74, of Tafton, and formerly of Albany, NY, died on Saturday January 20, 2024.  George was born on Friday, February 4, 1949, in Albany, NY to the late George Irish and Rita Jean Irish.  In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his son, George Irish Jr. 

George’s survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sandra “Sandy” Kae (Weigel) Irish; his two step daughters: Diane Petrowski and her husband, Brian, of Tafton, Lynn Stought of Tafton; his step granddaughter, Breanne Petrowski of Columbus, OH; and his eight siblings. 

George graduated from Avril Park High School.  He was an entrepreneur, owning and operating many businesses over his lifetime.  Most recently, he owned and operated Irish Realtors until he went into business with Keller Williams.  George was a National Rifle Association member.  He religiously watched the news to stay up to date on current events.  Most of all, George enjoyed spending time on his boat in Key West, FL and Lake Walanpanpak.   He will be dearly missed by those fortunate enough to have known him.

All are welcome to join George’s family at his graveside service on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Mount Zion Cemetery, 1369 Boiling Springs Rd, Boiling Springs, PA 17007.  Procession will begin at Buhrig Funeral and Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  Procession will begin forming at 10:45 a.m. and will depart at 11:00 a.m.
