George Ronald Wright, 70, of Mechanicsburg , died at home and surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 26, 2013.  He was born in Harrisburg, on Tuesday, April 21, 1942, son of the late Charles L. Wright and Anna (Garrett) Wright.  George was the husband of Wanda Lee (Day) Wright whom he married on June 6, 1980.

George’s survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Wanda; children, Katie McCartney and her husband Matthew of Dillsburg, Bonita Dowling and her husband Bob of Carlisle, Ronald Wright and his wife Zina of Carlisle;  two step-children, Jeffrey Barrick of Carlisle, Doug Barrick and his wife Jodi of Palmyra; grandchildren, Aaron, Amanda, Chucki, Ashton, Ryan, Paige, Bryan, Warren, David, Ashley, Brooke, Trevor; great-grandchild, Keyan; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding George in death are his brothers, Bobbi Wright and Gary Wright.

George graduated from Lebanon High School as part of the class of 1960.  He and his wife were the owner/operators of Wright Enterprise in Wormleysburg, for over 15 years.  George was a member of Trindle Springs Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg.  He loved watching movies and television. George enjoyed shopping and spending time at the rivers and beaches in Delaware.  He was a selfless, giving man who always thought of others first.

Cremation and services will be private and at the family’s convenience. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Lung Association , 3001 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or Trindle Spring Lutheran Church , 14 State Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
