Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, & Sister -
Geraldine “Geri” Ann (Dixon) Thomas, age 73, of Dillsburg, was tragically killed in an auto accident on Friday, August 19, 2016. Geri was born on Friday, October 23, 1942 in Philipsburg to the late Donald Dixon and Pearl (Blake) Dixon. Geri was the widow of David Owen Thomas, who died on December 22, 1966. In addition to her parents and husband, Geri is preceded in death by her grandson, Gregory Michael Weaver; and her three brothers: Donald Dixon, James Dixon, and Kenneth Dixon.
Geri’s survivors include her four children: Deborah McCreary and her husband, William, of Camp Hill, Michael Thomas and his wife, Ida, of Lewisberry, Stephen Thomas of Camp Hill, Jamelyn Parks and her husband, Stephen, of Grantville; her ten grandchildren: Jessica, Allysia, Nicklas, Milan, Dante, Greyson, Lauren, Brahm, Amelia, David; her two great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Nathaniel; and her six siblings: Donna Larson, Arlene Sweeden (her twin sister), John Dixon, Ronald Dixon, Jennie Makaiwi, Kim Barney; and several nieces and nephews.
Geri graduated from Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School as part of the class of 1960. Geri was active with Franklin Township Parks & Recreation and Farm Women’s Group. She was employed at Pinnacle Heath where she worked in the human resource department. Geri liked crocheting afghans for her family, reading, and gardening. She truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Geri will be deeply missed by all of her family.
All are welcome to join Geri’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Thursday, August 25, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend George Spangler officiating. Cremation was private.
