Giuseppe “Joey” Palumbo, age 42, of Mechanicsburg, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, October 3, 2020.  Joey was born on Thursday, May 18, 1978, in Harrisburg to Rosa (Costagliola) Palumbo and the late Carlo Palumbo.

Joey’s survivors include his three children: Julianna Palumbo, Luca Palumbo, Gabriella Palumbo of Mechanicsburg; his mother, Rosa of Mechanicsburg; and his two brothers: Antonio “Anthony” Palumbo and wife Kelly and their son Julian of Mechanicsburg, Carlo Palumbo, Jr. and wife Brittany of Mechanicsburg; and former fiancée, Nicole Jenks.

Joey graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1997, where he played on the soccer team.  Along with his brothers, Joey owned DaVinci Italian Eatery in Mechanicsburg and Palumbo’s Pizza of Hampden, and he was most often at one of the two restaurants.  It was important to Joey to help his family and friends, and his financial and business savvy contributed to his family’s successes. Joey’s family describes him as a “Jack of all trades”.  He was an enthusiastic electronics and technology troubleshooter; a carpenter who enjoyed tinkering and building; and a great dancer.  He enjoyed creating and cooking healthy meals, as well.  Joey was a positive, generous, fun guy who was always smiling, believed in giving everyone a chance, and would give the shirt off his back.  Joey loved his children fiercely and was most happy on their “Taco Tuesdays” and during any time spent with them.

All are welcome to join Joey’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Monday, October 12, 2020, from 11:15 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m., all at Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 East Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011, with Reverend Samuel E.G. Miller celebrating.  Burial in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill will be private.
