A Very Strong Woman -

Gladys L. (Weidner) Keith, age 82, of Richlandtown, and formerly of Camp Hill, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, June 8, 2019.  Gladys was born on Wednesday, March 17, 1937 in Dickinson Township to the late William Weidner and Viola (Henry) Weidner.  Gladys was the widow of Robert “Bob” Leon Keith, Sr., whom she married on June 25, 1967, and who died on January 11, 2003.  In addition to her parents and husband, Gladys is preceded in death by her step-son, Robert Leon Keith, Jr.; her two brothers: Gerald Weidner, Robert “Bob” Weidner; and her three beloved canine companions: Penny, Honey, and Candy.

Gladys’s survivors include her 2 step-daughters: Barbara Haller and her husband, Ed, of Camp Hill, Patricia Pluguez and her husband, Thomas, of Medford, NJ; her five grandchildren: Matt Keith and his wife, Jamie, of Dillsburg, Paula Clifford and her husband, Rob, of Quakertown, Traci Bedard and her fiance, Mike Smeltz, of Camp Hill, Pamela Maxwell and her husband, Tom, of Pittsgrove, NJ, Patti Massengale and her husband, Jon, of Collingswood, NJ; her 16 great-grandchildren; her brother, Galen Weidner and his wife, Brenda, of Verona, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

Gladys retired from Iceland Seafood Corporation in Camp Hill, after many years of service working as a packer.  She was a former member of Goodyear Free Methodist and a current member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Camp Hill.  Gladys loved going shopping and buying new things.  She also liked to bake and collect recipes in her earlier years.  Gladys enjoyed making bracelets and attending happy hour with her friends at Phoebe Richland.  Despite sometimes being stubborn, Gladys was a very strong woman who was loved by many.

All are welcome to join Gladys’s family at her viewing on Monday, June 17, 2019, from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Robert Conrad officiating.  Burial will follow in Westminster Cemetery in Carlisle.  Honored to be pallbearers are: Rob Clifford, Tom Maxwell, Jon Massengale, Rob Samalonis, Matt Keith, and Jonny Massengale.  Gladys’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Snapper’s Bar & Grill, 120 East Allen Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, immediately following the burial.
