Loving Father, Grandfather, & Brother -

Glen Barry Shade, age 68, of Carlisle, and formerly of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018.  Glen was born on Friday, December 30, 1949 in Harrisburg to the late Frederick “Fred” Shade and Eleanor Corine (Eisenhard) Shade.  Glen was the widower of Brenda Kay (Jovanelly) Shade, whom he married on July 20, 1968, and who died on June 26, 2007.

Glen’s survivors include his two children: Renee Shade and her significant other, David Stepler, of Carlisle, Glen Shade and his significant other, Suzanne Hile, of Harrisburg; his grandson: Stephen Shade of Halifax; his three siblings: Raymond Shade and his wife, Joyce, of New Cumberland, Gary Shade of Florida, Shirlene Shade of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Glen graduated from John Harris High School as part of the class of 1968.  He retired from Gannett Fleming in Camp Hill, after 43 years of service working as a draftsman.  Glen coached football for the Cumberland Valley Midget Football Association (CVMFA) for 20 years and baseball for Middlesex for over 15 years.  He was also an avid Green Bay Packers Fan.

Glen’s family will be remembering his life privately.  Interment in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisburg will be at the family’s convenience.  Cremation was private.

The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to everyone at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center who so lovingly cared for Glen during his illness.
