Gloria Lee (Hammaker) Mackey

Gloria Lee (Hammaker) Mackey, age 78, of Harrisburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Gloria was born on Sunday, July 14, 1946, in Harrisburg to the late James Vincent Hammaker and Mary Elizabeth (Motter) Hammaker. Gloria was the widow of Robert “Alex” Alexander Mackey, whom she married on November 19, 1966, and who died on December 22, 2020.

Gloria’s survivors include her three children: Annette Lynne Mackey of Harrisburg, Wayne Prescott Mackey and wife Melissa Ann (Wright) of Mechanicsburg, Dr. Christa "Chrissy" Noelle Mackey and husband Kenneth James Barnard of Coquille, Oregon; her three grandchildren: Kaitlyn Mary Mackey, Justin Foster Mackey, Alexia Suzanne Mackey; and her sister: Gale “Pat” Patricia Hammaker of Mechanicsburg. 

Gloria graduated from Central Dauphin East High School as part of the class of 1965. She retired from ABWE in 2021, after many years of service working as an Executive Assistant. Gloria was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mechanicsburg. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She treasured time with her family especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her 4 cats, Lily, Gracie, Charlie and Cooper and her Granddogs, Wesson and Benny. She will be dearly missed by those fortunate enough to have known her.

All are welcome to join Gloria's family for her viewing on Monday, February 24,2025 from 9:45 a.m. until the time of service beginning at 10:45 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4681 East Trindle Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 with Pastor Steve Crews officiating.  Burial will follow the service in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.
