Harvey Arthur Swab, age 94, of Mechanicsburg, died at home and surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Harvey was born on Friday, April 25, 1930, in Elliottsburg, PA to the late Charles Groover Swab and Anna Myrhlle (Beard) Swab. In addition to his parents, Harvey is preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Sue (Swab) Boose; his brother, Charles F. Swab; and his sister, Lillian G. (Swab) Moore.

Harvey’s survivors include his wife of 74 years, Dorothy Maxine (Colyer) Swab; his two children: Heath Swab of Boiling Springs and Shawn Swab and his wife Michele of Mechanicsburg; his Seven grandchildren: Ray E. Boose, Jeremy S. Boose, Cameron J. Swab, Casey S. Swab, Alexandra C. Buch, Courtney A. Buch and Delaney L. Buch; his brother, Robert L. Swab and his wife, Sandra of Millerstown; his numerous great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Harvey graduated from Ickesburg High School as part of the class of 1948. Harvey served his country proudly in the United States Army. He retired from Leader Nursing Home after many years of service working as a Maintenance Director. Harvey attended Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill. Harvey loved the outdoors. He especially loved gardening, hunting and his cabin. Harvey was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and never missed a game. He worked as a little league coach and ran the Monroe Township Baseball Association. Harvey was known as a handyman and loved to fix things. He was dedicated to his wife and family and was always there for them. Harvey will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have been in his life. 

Harvey’s family will be remembering his life privately. Interment in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisburg will be at the family’s convenience.
