Helen “Shirley” (Jumper) Corman, age 74, of Camp Hill, passed away at home and surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Shirley was born on Tuesday, January 25, 1944 in Carlisle to the late Carl Maynard Jumper and Miriam Althea (Waggoner) Jumper. In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her brother, Carl “Jim” E. Jumper, her sister, Geraldine “Sis” L. Seburn, and her son-in-law Douglas P. McNaughton Sr.
Shirley’s survivors include her four daughters: Susan Wong and her husband, Wilson, of Enola, Sherry Spencer and her husband, Noel, of Mechanicsburg, Wendy McNaughton and her fiancé, Bill Dyarman, of Newville, and Angela Corman and her fiancé. Kim Nocho, of Mechanicsburg; her four grandchildren: Tabatha Barnes, Douglas McNaughton Jr., Jonathan Spencer, and Christopher Spencer; her brother, Mervin Jumper; and her sister, Martha Spencer.
Shirley graduated from Carlisle Area High School as part of the class of 1962. She enjoyed a long and successful career as a legal secretary, first at Morgan, Lewis and Bockius LLP, then at McNees Wallace and Nurick LLC, and finally at Angino and Rovner, P.C. where Shirley served as Mr. Angino’s executive secretary until her retirement. Mr. & Mrs. Angino stayed in touch with Shirley during her retirement and until her death. Shirley was a member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church in Dillsburg. She was an exceptional gardener, both flower and vegetable. She loved the time she spent in the garden. Shirley enjoyed crafting which included drying flowers and sewing color guard flags for the award winning Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School Marching Band. She loved to travel and to meet new people and would frequently cruise as a solo traveler. Family vacations to North Wildwood, New Jersey were a special treat especially since she loved the sun and tanned well. Her daughters remember their mother as loving and hard-working and will forever smile and laugh as they recall her “Momisms”. She will be truly missed and will forever be remembered.
All are welcome to join Shirley’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and at her service at 2:15 p.m. all at Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church, 450 Chestnut Grove Road, Dillsburg, PA 17019; with Pastor Donna L. Hildebrand officiating. Shirley’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church immediately following the service. Everyone attending is asked to wear bright colored clothing in honor of Shirley’s life.
