Loving Wife, Mother, and Sister -

Helen (Kobi) Jones, age 86, of Mechanicsburg, passed away with her family by her side at Holy Spirit Hospital on Friday, April 6, 2018.  Helen was born on Monday, March 21, 1932 in Mt. Carmel, PA to the late Nicholas Kobi and Theresa (Sas) Kobi.  In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Jones; and several brothers and sisters.

Helen’s survivors include her husband of 62 years, Paul Edward Jones; her daughter, Cheryl Jones of Mechanicsburg; her son-in-law, Bruce Stauffenberg; her many siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen graduated from Mt. Carmel High School as part of the class of 1950.  She retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg after 26 years of service.  Helen was a lifelong member of the Protestant faith.  She was a simple and plain woman who enjoyed spending time at home.  Helen was a naturally beautiful woman whose personality drew people to her.  She made friends everywhere she went and everybody liked her.  Each day, Helen would read her copies of Globe magazine and the National Enquirer.  She would then work on her crossword puzzles and make a trip to Karns to socialize with everyone that worked there.  Helen loved going to the creek near her home and taking in the tranquility while looking at the ducks, geese, and turtles.

All are welcome to join Helen’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 12:15 p.m. until time of service at 1:15 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating.  Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.  Honored to be the urn bearer is Paul Jones.  Helen’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, 61 Gettsyburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, following the burial.  Cremation was private.
