Helen Louise (Gill) McGee, 75, of Shiremanstown , died peacefully at home on Thursday, June 27, 2013.  She was born in Philipsburg, PA, on Wednesday, January 26, 1938 daughter of the late Frank Nevin Gill and Helen Burd (Boyer) Gill.  Helen was the wife of Richard Eugene McGee whom she married on July 16, 1955.

Helen’s survivors include her loving husband of almost 58 years, Richard “Dick” Eugene McGee; her three children, Susan Engelmore of Carlisle, Dianna Payne and her husband Jim of York, Richard T. McGee and his wife Becky of Camp Hill; her four grandchildren, Dr. Tatia Engelmore, Amanda Payne, Jake Payne, Jeb Payne; her brother, Frank Nevin Gill, II; and her sister.

Helen graduated from Altoona High School as part of the class of 1955.  She was a more than 35 year member of Silver Spring Presbyterian Church in Mechanicsburg.  Helen and Dick had the pleasure of visiting all 50 States and 23 foreign countries together with her favorite being Egypt.  She was an avid card player who enjoyed playing every evening.  Each morning, for many years, Helen enjoyed her mall walking at the Capital City Mall .  More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.  Talking and socializing were special loves of Helen’s and one of the reasons that she will be deeply missed.

All are welcome to join Helen’s family at her viewing on Monday, July 1, 2013, from 9:15 to 10:15 and funeral service beginning at 10:30 all at Silver Spring Presbyterian Church , 444 Silver Spring Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050, with Reverend Dr. Charles “Buz” D. Myers officiating.  Burial will follow in Rolling Green Memorial Park in Camp Hill, PA.  Honored to be pallbearers are: Jim Payne, Jake Payne, and Jeb Payne.  Helen’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at their home following the burial.
