Henry Lester Weaver

Loved His Family Without Bounds -

Henry L. Weaver, 71, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on October 29, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family. Born March 21, 1948, he was the son of the late H. Lester and Naomi E. Weaver. He is joining his beloved wife, Linda L. Weaver, who passed away in 2016.

He is survived by his brother, George W. Weaver, married to Nancy A. (Widders) Weaver and his two children, Andrew B. Weaver and Ann Marie Weaver, married to G. Philip Toy Jr.

Henry grew up in Blue Ball, PA. He attended Garden Spot High School and graduated from Penn State with a degree in Business Administration.  On the day of his college graduation, he also married the love of his life, Linda, and started their journey west to California, all in the same day!  Henry’s career with the US Department of Agriculture took them to California, Georgia, New Jersey, Virginia and ultimately back to Pennsylvania, where they would be closer to the family.  He spent his last 30 years in Mechanicsburg. Henry loved his wife and children without bounds; however, a close second was his love of cars, specifically corvettes.  His 1961 Corvette was a member of the family.  Not only did Henry and Linda date in this car, it was a part of family events, big and small; vacations, weddings, ice cream trips, etc. Henry had deep appreciation for the simple things in life.  He would always choose a meal around his kitchen table over going out to eat.  He would rather restore an old car versus buy a new one.  He would prefer a round of golf with his buddies instead of a fancy vacation.  In Henry’s words, life is good.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to please honor Henry with an act of kindness, for these gestures will live on in our hearts forever, just as he will.  Contributions to celebrate Henry’s life can be sent to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110, to honor all the wonderful caretakers who helped him through his battle against cancer.

A private burial of Henry and Linda will take place at Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery in East Earl prior to the memorial service.

All are welcome to join Henry’s family for a memorial service on November 08, 2019 at St. Stephen Reformed Church, 249 E Main St, New Holland, PA 17557.  Visitation with the family to remember Henry and Linda will begin at 10:00 a.m. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Following the service, the family invites everyone to join them for fellowship and celebration of their shared life at Shady Maple, 129 Toddy Drive, East Earl, PA 17519.
